English Speech - Bullying.
You're walking down the hall, just minding your own business. Then suddenly, someone sticks their foot out and trips you. You fall to the ground. The next second, you look up, to see everyone is around you. Laughing, Pointing, Making fun of you. Would you cry? Would you run away? Many people must face this decision every day. Good morning teacher and students. My name is Ridda Sayed and I am here today to inform you all that I can about bullying especially Psychological and Physical bullying since in my point of view it is the most serious. Bullying isn't limited to pushes and punches or by age, sex, cultural or religious background. Psychological bullying is when someone (or a group of people) repeatedly and intentionally uses words or actions which can cause psychological harm. We all know the saying "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me" this is not true. Psychological bullying has serious psychological and emotional effects: low self-worth, low self-esteem, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and even symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder. Victims of psychological bullying feel helpless, and out of control over environments and feelings. If they feel the bully is in control, their feelings of self-worth will drop. Physical bullying is being punched, tripped, kicked or having your belongings stolen or damaged. It might also include sexual abuse. Physical abuse Is definitely the easiest to identify. The effects of bullying can be serious and even fatal. Victims of bullying can suffer from long term emotional and behavioral problems. There is a strong link between bullying and suicide. Bullying leads to several suicides every year. It is estimated that between 15 and 25 children commit suicide every year in the UK alone, because they are being bullied.
