In this book Sandra M. Alters goes over multiple aspects of gun control here in the U.S. she goes over the many laws over firearms, she discusses their involvement in crime as well as how they affect our youth. Another subject brought up by Sandra is the views of the public towards the topics she discusses. The book doesn’t really take a side it just gives good non-biased information over the subject of if guns restrict rights or protect people. This journal written by Chris Frates discusses what is happening in congress with gun control and the steps that our republican representatives are taking to insure our rights in the matter stay protected. The democrats who are for the most part against guns and the republicans who are mainly for guns battle in legislation over how strict the laws should be. This process is described to us by Frates when he takes us through the debate between the legislators who create the outcome of the law. In his article, Robert Farago discusses why it is so important that the nation’s citizens have the right to carry firearms for the means of self-defense and public safety. Robert mainly focuses his article over the George Zimmerman case, using it to describe how important it is that citizens stay armed so that they may take control of a situation that poses danger. Robert ends his article by giving good statistics which explain how affective gun wielding, law-abiding citizens can be towards the deterrence and elimination of crime....
