“Pitch Perfect” has a pitch problem.

Pitch Perfect is exactly what it says on the tin – Perfect. It is a 2012 musical comedy that was premiered in Los Angeles on September 24th, 2012. The film was directed by Jason Moore. It is based on Mickey Rapkin's non-fiction novel Pitch Perfect. The director of this movie has assembled a celebrity cast on the set, including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Ben Platt and Adam DeVine.

The movie takes place at Barden University, Georgia where Beca (Anna Kendrick) is a new arrival and joins the Barden Bellas, a female a cappella group. There is a rivalry between a male a cappella group called the Treblemakers and Barden Bellas who is led by Bumper (Adam Devine) and Aubrey (Anna Camp) respectively.

Every year, the judges of a regional a cappella competition gets uninterested by the Bellas performance as they sing the same song. The Bellas knew that they had to do something in order to get back into the competition. Consequently, Beca who wants to pursue her career in music making adds some spice with her knowledge of DJ-ing into the boring repetitive songs which leads them to the National a cappella competition. During the journey, Beca shows admiration towards a member of the Treblemakers named Jesse (Skylar Astin).

Since the brimming plot creates its messed-up way towards the predictable onstage triumph, some of the best comedies are approached from secondary characters like Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson), who is another Bella. This movie is a textbook example of how to do great blockbusters. Pitch Perfect has grossed over $105 million overall which includes $65 million domestically and $40 million internationally. Thus, it is not surprising why it is peaking at Number 3 at the box office.

Pitch Perfect had positive reviews from critics. Based on 135 reviews, it received an 81% positive rating on the review website, Rotten Tomatoes. The critics...
