The Use of E-Therapy to Improve Quality of Care and Increase Number of Patients As a member of ABC consultants, New York Presbyterian has hired me to pinpoint ways to improve and expand their patient care. New York Presbyterian Hospital based in New York, whose “healthcare system serves residents of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, as well as Westchester, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and several upstate New York counties. Members of the System include acute-care and community hospitals, continuum-of-care facilities, home-health agencies, ambulatory sites, and specialty institutes committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective, and conveniently accessible care to the communities they serve” ("About Us", n.d.). My proposal for e-therapy use will include mental, occupational, speech, and physical therapy. I must note e-therapy will not be appropriate for all cases depending on the diagnosis and patients ability to comply with an online regimen. In most cases, e-therapy will occur in real time such as video chat and instant messaging but also include e-mail communication that may take place over time....
