A Patients Bill Of Rights

1. The patient has the right to considerate care.
I do agree with this right, because every patient wants to feel safe. No patient deserves to be neglected when going into a healthcare facility. Negligence is often an intentional action that occurs when a physician performs or fails to perform an action towards a patient is. Every patient is entitled to a physician that will be considerate and respectful to them. If a patient is neglected by a physician a law suit would most likely arise. All healthcare providers are held accountable for their actions and must follow all healthcare standards in their field, no patients wants to feel abandon. Physicians must treat all patients with the same standards regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. Although physicians do have the right to select the patients they wish to treat, and refuse services.

2. The patient has the right to every considerate privacy.
My opinion towards a patient’s privacy is very agreeable to this right. When it comes to information, test results, patient’s history, consent, and diagnosis confidentiality should be the first thing in mind. Some patients have to build up the courage to even go to the healthcare facility. Confidentiality is one of many standards physicians have to follow, and if this law is not followed it’s very unprofessional and illegal to be exact. If a physician doesn’t follow this law his/her licenses could be revoked; not only that a law suit from the patient as well. If the patients has AIDS/HIV. I feel the physician should report the patient’s diagnosis to the patient’s partner. This is a deadly disease that can be exposed to many people if he or she are not careful or reasonable.

3. The patient has the right to be informed of hospital policies and practices that relate to patient care, treatment, and responsibilities. The patient should have the right to be informed of the hospitals policies and practices...
